Play a round on our Atlanta golf course

Located in the wooded area of northern Atlanta, the 6,699-yard, par-72 golf course at Polo Golf & Country Club was designed by award-winning architect Joe Lee, who has designed more than 250 courses in his career. Lee believed that “golf should be enjoyable and not a chore” to play, a philosophy that is clearly evident at Polo. Throughout the course, golfers are presented with straightforward shot options as everything is laid out in plain sight. Lee wanted golfers to see what is in front of them so every holes has a clear route from tee to green with no hidden hazards or blind spots.

With water on 15 holes, the course puts a premium on accuracy off the tee and forces golfers to think strategically on every shot. The bunkers—which are being renovated in 2014 using Perma Bunker™ technology—are especially tough, as they are always visible but expertly positioned to snag an errant drive or an off-line shot into a green. This combination of challenge and fairness can clearly be seen in such standout holes as the 447-yard, par-4 third, the 451-yard, par-4 ninth, the 213-yard, par-3 15th and the 540-yard, par-5 17th.

“I look at this golf course as a great member’s course,” said John Harris, Head Golf Professional. “It’s not too long for most players but the greens complexes make it pretty tough. The longer players can reach several of the par fives, but a double bogey is always lurking from an errant tee shot or approach shot. There are also lots of risk/reward opportunities on the par fives.”
