Laura graduated from St. John Fisher College with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management. She has an extensive background in both sports and hospitality, with over 10 years in the industry. In 2013 Laura worked for the PGA of America during the PGA Championship at Oak Hill Country Club. During her time with the PGA of America, Laura worked in Corporate Sales and Hospitality. She has also worked for the Walt Disney Company, Delaware North Companies and the Buffalo Bills. Laura is also a published writer. She was a Sports Reporter for the Richmond Times-Dispatch and wrote her senior thesis, which is now published, on the Motivations of Digital Media Consumers on Facebook and Twitter.

Laura likes to run in her free time. She has completed two marathons and 11 half marathons. Her favorite football team is the Denver Broncos and her favorite College Basketball team is Syracuse Orange. Laura also has two dogs (Ovechkin and Rose) and one cat (Tootles).

Meghan Brennan

Meghan Brennan was raised outside of Washington D.C. in Chantilly, Virginia. She is a graduate of James Madison University, where she majored in Hospitality Management with a minor in Business. During her time in college, she did an operations and administration internship with Mount Vernon Country Club in Alexandria, Virginia. She was a member of the International Hospitality Honor Society and a National Service Sorority.

Upon graduation, she moved to Virginia Beach and worked at Princess Anne Country Club in Virginia Beach as a server. Meghan joined us in August 2020 as our front desk Club Life Concierge.

As the Director of Member Experience, Meghan hopes to grow member engagement and is excited to become an essential part of Greenbrier’s future success.

In her free time, Meghan enjoys going to the beach, spending time with her family, cooking and playing with her chocolate lab puppy, Beau!

Amanda Sanders

Amanda Sanders was raised outside Baltimore, Maryland in the town of Ellicott City. She is a graduate of James Madison University, where she majored in Hospitality Management. After working in Dallas post-graduation, she later relocated in 2018 to the Virginia Beach area to be closer to family and is currently engaged to her fiancé, a U.S. Naval Officer. 

Amanda’s career path has been focused around the hotel and hospitality industry, with experience serving at multiple Marriott International properties. While in Dallas she worked at the renowned Gaylord Texan Resort in the Event Management Department where she was part of a team that hosted events serving up to 8,000 guests. After moving to Virginia, she initially worked as a Fine Wine Sales Representative with Breakthru Beverage where she further developed her knowledge of fine wines and wine service customs. She joins Greenbrier Country Club from her most recent position at the Cavalier Hotel in Virginia Beach, where she served as Banquet Captain and Restaurant Supervisor at Becca.

As Service Director, Amanda will leverage her understanding of hospitality industry best practices to continually enhance both the casual and fine dining experience at the Club, while placing emphasis on staff training and development. She is excited to continue her career progression with Greenbrier and looks forward to being an integral part of the Club’s future success.

Gerald (Jerry) Beaudry

Chef Jerry joined the Greenbrier team in October and quickly made a positive impact in the kitchen. Jerry has a Bachelor of Science degree in Culinary Arts and an Associate degree in Hotel Restaurant Management from Michigan State University. Jerry previously served as the Executive Chef at James River Country Club in Newport News and Cedar Point CC in Suffolk. In addition to working as the Executive Chef at several Italian restaurants in Virginia Beach, Jerry spent several years in Florida, where he served as the Executive Chef at Captiva Island Yacht Club, the Imperial Golf Club, in Naples, FL, and Pazzo Cucina Italiano in Naples, FL.

Scott Wasco

Scott Wasco grew up in Chesapeake, VA and graduated from Western Branch High School in 1996. In 1999 Scott relocated to southern California to attend the Professional Golfers Career College. Upon graduation, he and his fiancé Kristin (now wife), decided to start their lives off together in California.

He began his professional career as an Assistant Golf Professional at the Southern California Golf Associations Golf Club. While there Scott worked hand-in-hand with the PGA Tour as they hosted PGA Tour Q School multiple years. In 2008 Scott had the opportunity to help open up the Journey at Pechanga as their First Assistant Golf Professional. The high-end resort was voted by Golf Digest as their “4th Best New Course of 2008”. After four years at Journey, he was offered his first Head Professional position at the Champions Club at the Retreat in Corona, CA.  In 2016 Scott was awarded the “Golf Professional of the Year” award by the Inland Empire Chapter of the Southern California section of the PGA. He was there 3 years before he was promoted to Director of Golf.  In 2017 he moved on to Dove Canyon Golf Club in Orange County, CA to be employed as their Director of Golf.

Scott and his wife Kristin, have two children, Ava 11, and Kellen 8. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and watching all different sports. Here is a fun fact, their family pet Boston Terrier (Tori) is named after Scott’s favorite golf course, Torrey Pines in San Diego, CA. Scott and his family are very excited to make the move back to Chesapeake to be close to their families.

Anthony Jones

Anthony Jones has over 25 years of fitness training experience as an AFAA/Rebook Certified Instructor. He began his fitness career in the Air Force where he was tasked to design a fitness program for his squadron which other detachments mimic. It was instrumental in helping the squadron meet their Physical Fitness Level requirements. 

After retiring from the USAF he came to GCC and started working on the tennis courts and then later was moved to the gym where he was the closing assistant manager. And was given the opportunity to do personal training.

In 2007 he trained one of his clients for the Virginia and Washington DC Figure Fitness Competition where she won 1st place victory in both the Va. and Wash. DC competition. 

He also assisted the Athletic Director at that time also to 2nd place finishes in the same competition. He also trained a friend to a 1st place finish in a Bodybuilding Competition in Florida.

He later became Athletic program Director where he ran the Racquetball program setting up RB tournaments and assisting with the tennis leagues and tournaments.

Anthony put teams together to raise money for the American Heart Association, and the Susan G. Komen Breast cancer walk. And was recognized by ODU for leading the way in a food drive competition between other universities in Virginia.

Anthony and another coworker were featured in the local newspaper for coming up with a fitness challenge for our members called “The Blonde Ambition”. If the members had won they would have to dye their hair blonde. They got close so they wore blonde wigs for their weight loss efforts. He was also noted in the newspaper for his Boot Camp Class and was requested to demonstrate and “Exercise of the Week” for the newspaper.

His hobby is coaching Little League Baseball and being behind a camera taking pictures, you may have seen him at several club events, and relaxing to smooth jazz or getting hyped up on some upbeat workout music.

Ben Pritchett

Ben has been in the turf industry for 20 plus years and has worked at clubs in five southeastern states. He has a degree in turfgrass management and a solid understanding of the game of golf since he was a competing junior on the AJGA tour. He has worked with many different grass cultivars and has extensive experience with L-93 Bentgrass greens in the transition zone. Ben was the superintendent at Greenbrier from 2008 to 2014 and is very happy to be back at the club.
