Kira is excited to join the family at Aliso Viejo Country Club, as the new Private Events Director. Kira is a SoCal native, born and raised in RSM. She grew up in a large family of 8, with 3 sisters and 2 brothers ages 34 to 13, falling right in the middle. In her free time, Kira loves to work on DIY projects, cook, and read – anything that allows her to learn new things. She also has a love for hiking and dancing. Jim started his food and beverage career over 27 years ago, mostly with Marriott Hotels and Resorts. He held positions working as everything from Bartender/Server to Meeting Room Set-Up. He quickly moved up the ranks as supervisor, coordinator, manger and Director of Events and eventually to restaurants. Marriott also moved him throughout the US to such locations as Fort Lauderdale, San Antonio, Philadelphia, Atlanta and finally, Denver. His country club experience had been with Dominion Country Club in the foothills just outside of San Antonio along with Fair Oaks Golf and Country Club (ClubCorp) in Boerne, Texas. Recently, Jim had been with Columbine Country Club here in the Denver area. Jim is very happy here and says that he will never leave this great part of the US, Colorado.
Jim’s training comes from several areas of study, Macomb Community College (Graphic Design), Center for Creative Studies in Detroit (Advertising, Marketing) and continued education (nutrition and hospitality management) at Nova University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
He is originally from Warren Michigan, (yes a Redwings, Tigers, Pistons and Lions fan) and currently resides in Highlands Ranch with his three children. When time permits Jim loves to fish, hike, bike, camp and play golf.
Jim is extremely excited to be part of such a great team and looks forward to meeting all the members, their families and friends!

When I moved to Colorado in 2006, I had no idea I would have found my wife, started a family (3 year old, Tenley), and planted my roots in this beautiful state! I am originally from Walnut Creek , California. I came to Colorado to pursue Veterinary Medicine, but slowly started to figure out that I would rather be outdoors all day and spend my time around the game that raised me! I graduated from Colorado State University in 2011 with Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology and a second Bachelor of Science Degree in Environmental Horticulture. My first job out of school was actually here at Black Bear! I then spent two seasons at Blackstone, and four of the past years as the Assistant Superintendent at The Pinery. Outside of work I love boating, hiking, snowboarding, painting, and the occasional DYI project! Black Bear Golf Club has many meanings for me and I am very excited to be here preserving its long history of great golf and providing the best conditions in Colorado!
