Hello Bay Oaks Family, my is name Alex Torres and I am the newest addition to tennis staff. I began playing tennis at age 7 and quickly fell in love with the sport and how mentally and physically demanding it was. I competed as a junior player and became a national champion for Puerto Rico at the age of 10, and the year prior placed second in the national tournament. I played 4 years of Varsity tennis for Baytown Sterling and Pasadena Memorial. I also played some ITF tournaments for a short amount, but sadly had to stop due to injury.

Following graduation, I trained as a coach under the supervision of Carlos Hernandez, who is a program director for Papa Carlos Tennis Academy. Having a B.S. in Fitness and Human Performance, I look forward to working with all our athletes and maximizing their potentials as athletes and tennis players.

After university, I became certified with the USPTA as a Tennis Professional. During my free time, I play in a tennis league in Memorial Park.  I am excited to work with this new club and I am looking forward to contributing my knowledge and love for the game.
